William Phillips, D.O. graduated cum laude from New York University with a B.S. in physical therapy, and was the recipient of the New York University Founders Day Award. He practiced physical therapy for three years at the renowned Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, and during that time decided to pursue medicine. Dr. Phillips earned his doctor of osteopathic medicine at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he received two leadership awards. He began his six years of postgraduate training with a rotating internship at Doctor's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, followed by a four-year residency in general surgery at Doctor's Hospital, where he served as chief resident. He then completed a one-year fellowship in vascular surgery at South Pointe Hospital in Cleveland. Dr. Phillips joined Surgical Associates in 2001.
